Making a difference. All of our children, all of the time

Sally Leese

Welcome to the website for Castle Vale Nursery School. I hope you will be able to find all the information you need whether you are looking for a school for your child, have a child who attends our school or are someone with an interest in our school. Our staff team work tirelessly for our children to help them become the best little people they can be. Our school provides individualised learning through effective adult interactions in a free flow, child initiated learning environment. Children access Forest School sessions every week and learn independence and life skills through many varied and practical activities including woodwork, risky play, taking care of our animals and cooking. We love to be outdoors and take pride in our sensory and messy play. Please feel free to browse our site and ask us any questions you have. We are very proud of what we do but are always keen to improve. If there is any way we can do even better, please let us know at help@castlevalenursery.co.uk. Also use the email address, call 01216757578 or come in and speak to me if you have any concerns or a complaint about what we do. We will always want to hear from you and talk it through. You can also find a copy of our complaints policy in the policies section. Policies

We are proud to be one of the partners leading an Early Years Stronger Practice Hub as part of the Department For Education Early Years COVID Recovery programme.

We are Heart – Early Years West Midlands Stronger Practice Hub. Helping Early years practitioners to Apply Research into Teaching and learning.

A few parents have asked about uniform. Children do not need to wear uniform this week if you don’t want them to. All we ask is that children wear tops that cover their shoulders (no vests or strappy tops).

I am monitoring the heat closely. DfE advice is that we remain open this week.

Thank you for your support everyone.

🌞 Heatwave Update for Next Week 🌞

There is currently an amber heat warning in place for next week.

We have suncream and sun hats available for the children; however, you’re very welcome to send your own. If you do, please make sure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

We will be keeping the children well hydrated, with drinks stations set up both indoors and outdoors. Staff will also be reminding and stopping regularly to ensure everyone has plenty to drink.

Please could you send your child in with spare clothes, as we will be enjoying lots of water play during the week. We are also running very low on spare clothing, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.

We will only be offering tea club until 4 p.m this week. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you for your support! ☀️

Can children wear alternative bottoms instead of uniform trousers if they still wear the nursery polo shirt?

Hey...Topcliffe have said that if the temperature exceeds 35 degrees then they will be closing early (between 12.30 and 1pm)....will you be doing the same?x

Hey. Is it okay for children to wear own clothes ? ( thin shorts and T-shirt?)

Do you have a child who is 2,3 or 4 years old?

Both 15 hour and 30 hour funded places available for those eligible.

Get in touch for more information.

Information for children in Rainbow.

The children made a dragon yesterday and decided there was going to be a dragon party today. Some have very excitedly gone home to talk about this dragon party and that they need to dress up and we’ve had parents asking. Your children are more than welcome to dress up for their dragon party if they want to.
